Why Go Gold?

“Go Gold” is the inaugural founding project of our foundation. “Go Gold” was established to benefit childhood cancer patients in our local Highlands Ranch, CO community - then expanded to patients at St Jude's in TN - and also to provide research funding to ACCO (through fundraising) in support of their program needs.

While relatively rare, Cancer remains the #1 disease killer of children in the United States today, and 20% of children with cancer in our country won’t survive it!

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) reports investment in funding for pediatric cancer remains practically unchanged over the last 10 years!

Funding for pediatric cancer lags far behind funding that is currently provided for major adult cancer programs. Currently, the gap we are facing in funding is roughly $1 billion!

Only two cancer treatments are currently approved for children - yet 35 are approved for adults!
Why Go Gold?

...in honor of my teammate Trevor who died from brain cancer at just 14 years old, Go Gold's purpose is two-fold:
1. increase Awareness about Childhood cancer

To raise awareness of childhood cancer and the need to correct the funding imbalance (vs adult cancers).

To raise money, through multiple local fundraising events, to build "Care Kits" for children with cancer at hospitals and to help improve funding childhood cancer research
What is Go Gold?

All money and in-kind donations raised from our education and awareness programs below will go specifically towards building “Care Kits” for pediatric cancer patients at local hospitals. 100% of all remaining funds will be given to ACCO for their cancer research projects!
